Corry, une jeune femme française, est infirmière coordinatrice de transplantation cardiaque pédiatrique. Formée dans les hôpitaux parisiens, elle a été envoyée dans un hôpital au Japon pour améliorer le fonctionnement d’un service de transplantations où les greffes d’organes sont encore largement un sujet tabou. Corry se bat au quotidien pour réussir la greffe d’un jeune patient d’une douzaine d’années, et vit avec Jin, un photographe originaire de l’île de Yakushima à l’extrême sud du Japon.
